There is some degree of debate about how the Margarita came into being, but there is less dispute about where it is going – with the wonders of molecular mixology sending it into whole, new directions.

A bit of history:
Way back in the day (1941) a barman was trying to impress four dancing girls with the hope that his magicians’, mixologist skills would wow then and get the slightly drunk – leading all five of then upstairs for some more mixing. The wily barman, Pancho, knew that it’d take something very, very special to persuade all four of the ladies to come and play with him. He use tequila because one girl was a local and any other base would have been unthinkable – then he used orange barbecue one of the ladies had hair the colour of fire, the lemon was included to hint at the saphism that he hoped would ensue which left the salty top which he included to increase their thirst and encourage then to drink more, more, more!

The molecular mixology kit looks great, but unfortunately I’d need to but it to try out the recipes – they’re not available on the Molecule-R website, so I’ll need to wait and see what I get for my birthday!!!

I love cocktails, but am unsure on the value of getting so technical about it!

These kits are a bit expensive for what you get. I suggest just googling molecular margarita and then buying the ingredients from someone like – although if it is fir a gift, then these kits are great.

Is that really a true story about the invention of the margarita? I was told that Clint Eastwood invented ut when on holiday in Cancun? Not sure about the molecular bit though….
