Maple and bacon ice cream recipe

Maple bacon ice cream might sound weird but it is actually a very tasty thing. Mixing something really sweet with something as savory as bacon might sound weird, technically, but it is actually ridiculously tasty and easy to prepare. You would need a few ingredients, and a bit of work, but the end results are totally worth it. Using a whipped cream dispenser to serve the ice cream in the end will really make it more fluffy and tasty. The first thing you would need to do is make a creamy vanilla ice cream quickly. To make this, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 cup of Thickened cream

  • 1 cup of Milk

  • 1 tablespoon of Vanilla extract

  • 3/4th cup Sugar

  • 1 pod of vanilla bean, seeds scraped out

To make the ice cream, at first, combine all the ingredients together, and then put it in an ice cream churner for about 20 minutes or so. It will be of soft serve quality, and you should freeze the ice cream about 2 hours more to set it fully. If you do not have a churner, put it in the freezer, freeze it for about an hour, bring it out, scrape it with a fork to make sure that the ice cream is not grainy, and put it back in the freezer again to freeze completely.

Meanwhile, take 3 slices of bacon, and lay the slices on a baking sheet, lined with baking paper. Brush with a coating of maple syrup on one side. Put them in the oven at 180 degree centigrade and bake for 10 minutes. After that, turn over, brush with maple syrup on the other side, and bake for a further 10 minutes. Once done, chop the bacon up into large square pieces, keeping a few longer slices.

To serve, put some of the ice cream into a serving bowl. Here you can use a whipped cream dispenser to make the ice cream even more fluffy and light. Stick some pieces of maple bacon on it, and serve immediately.
