Giving Tree Projects
The Personal Needs Pantry has provided our parish with 300 (stars) tags. Each star has a family number along with the age of the child or adult and their interests. Every family in our parish is encouraged to take a tag. Together, we could make such a difference to a whole family in need. We would like the gift wrapped and placed back under the tree beginning Saturday, November November 29th and will be collected until until December 14th. Please attach the star tag to the gift. Call the parish office at 644-6020 with any questions. Thank you for making this Christmas brighter for other Union County families..
We would like to continue to decorate our tree with hats, mittens and scarves. Please remember to pick up some of these items when you are out shopping this holiday season. On Dec. 20-21, bring them to Mass with you and decorate the tree! All items collected will be donated to the United Way of Union County as part of their "Winter Warm-Up" campaign.

Adoration
On Friday, Dec. 5th, Solemn Exposition will begin after the 5:15 pm Mass. Exposition of the Eucharist will continue through the night until 10:50 am on Saturday, Nov. 8th. Please note that there must be at least two "Adorers" present with the Eucharist at all times during Exposition. The Church teaches us that the most effective prayer is prayer in the Presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. Never underestimate the power of prayer. Contact Jim Elchert at 644-3759 for more information.

Deadline for Christmas Flowers

Today is the final day for you to have your loved one listed on the memorial bulletin, however, contributions for the purchase of Christmas altar flowers will still be accepted. Please put your "Flower Envelope" in the collection basket.
•Advent Penance Service
The Advent Penance Service will be held on Tuesday, December 9th at 7:00 pm. Guest priests plus Fr. David will be available for you to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that "each of the faithful is bound by an obligation faithfully to confess serious sins at least once a year." Please plan to attend so that you may receive this important sacrament.

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Happy New Year! The Church celebrates a new year with the First Sunday of Advent. Beginning soon, our parish will embark on a Stewardship Program that will involve the entire parish. Currently, only 25-30% of our registered families attend Mass regularly and support the needs of our parish.
Discipleship and stewardship constitute a way of life that is both privileged and challenging. Who is a Christian steward? One who receives God's gifts gratefully, cherishes and tends them in a responsible manner, shares them in justice and love with others, and returns them with increase to the Lord. For most of you who come to Mass and share your time and blessings, this will not be a major change. We must, however, continue to reach out and evangelize our non-practicing brothers and sisters.
We pray that the Holy Spirit, whose gracious action conforms us to Jesus Christ and to the Church, will enlighten us all and help us to renew our commitment as the Lord's disciples and as stewards of His gifts.
Blessings,
Fr. David
