Description: Head Librarian
The City of Redwood Falls is seeking a Head Librarian with a Masters of Library Science degree preferred or B.A./B.S. in Library Science or related field with preferably 3-5 years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in a library. Position requires a flexible schedule, strong customer service, experience with an automated library system, skills in electronic and on-line searching and considerable knowledge of a wide variety of books and authors. Person must have ability to plan, prepare and administer a budget; ability to maintain accurate records and prepare clear, detailed reports. Must have ability to train and supervise others and maintain an effective working relationship with staff, public and other governmental agencies. Position: Branch Manager
Library: Great River Regional Library - Cokato Branch

Description: Under general direction, the Branch Manager exists to provide direct customer service and to oversee the operation of a branch library.

REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from a recognized college or university in a bachelor's program or equivalent. Two years of library or customer service (cash handling, multi-line phone system, answering questions of the general public) experience. One year supervisory experience. Preferred qualities include, but not limited to: Prior public library experience, staff training/interviewing/evaulation exp, intermediate computer/internet skills, intermediate knowledge and skills with the online catalog, experience planning, coordinating or conducting programs for children and/or adults, and skill in interpreting and applying policy and procedures.

SCHEDULE: PT 26.375 hours per week (annualized). WEEK I: Monday, 2-6 pm; Tuesday, 1:30-7 pm; Wednesday, 9:30 am - 2:30 pm; Thursday, 2-8 pm; Friday 9:45 am - 12:00 pm & 1:30-6 pm. WEEK II: Tuesday, 1:30-7 pm; Wednesday, 9:30 am - 2:30 pm; Thrusday, 2-8 pm; Friday, 9:45 am - 12:00 pm & 1:30-6 pm; Saturday 9:45 am - 12 pm.

Description: The Hennepin County Library and the Library Foundation of Hennepin County are pleased to announce the Community Ambassador Parent Educator position, serving the Hmong community. This position will play a lead role in creating classroom-based educational experiences and providing developmentally appropriate opportunities for childcare providers. This will be a part of the Hennepin County Library/Library Foundation of Hennepin County Community Ambassador program; a project to create of a corps of Family, Friend and Neighbor (FFN) providers who will serve as "community ambassadors" - trusted neighbors and friends to whom other FFN providers can turn to for support, advice, and education with the goal of providing children in their care the skills and tools to be successful in school.
Commitment: This is a contracted, grant funded position - part time. 5 hours a month, August through January. Must be able to work evenings.
About Hennepin County Library: Hennepin County Library is made up of forty-one libraries, serving the 1.1 million residents of Hennepin County. On January 1st 2008, the Hennepin County Library system merged with the Minneapolis Library system, creating a premier 41 library system to serve both city and suburban Hennepin County. The library is committed to serving as Hennepin County's partner in lifelong learning with program for babies to seniors, new immigrants, small business owners and students of all ages.
Project: The Community Ambassador Parent Educator will be asked to complete a variety of tasks related to Hennepin County Library/Library Foundation of Hennepin County Community Ambassador program. Primary tasks will include:
•Plan five, one hour classes designed to provide community ambassadors with activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual and social needs of children aged birth to 6. •Teach designed classes to a group of adult Hmong community ambassadors. •Demonstrate the importance of preparing children to be ready for school in all lessons.
Requirements:
•Knowledge and experience working in the Hmong Community. •Bilingual, fluent in both English and Hmong. •Proficient knowledge in child development and early education practices. •Experience leading parent education classes.
