1  Introduction

Pagebar adds a nice page bar for selecting indivual pages instead of just the previous or next page. After activation you have a nice navigation bar instead of the old "Previous page" and "Next page" links:

2  Features

•Optional automatic insertion of pagebar on all pages (posts, search, tags, ...) •Still full control if pagebar through manual insertion into the template •Works with nearly all plugins (Simple Tags, UTW, ...) •Extremely customisable •Compatible with WP 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 and WP nightly

3  Installation

3.1  Copy files

Unpack the archive and copy the files into a directory called pagebar2 in your plugin directory (normally .../wp-content/plugins/). Copy the file "pagebar.css" into your theme's directory. That's it!

3.2  Adding to blog

There are two ways of inserting pagebar into you blog:
•automatic •manual

3.2.1  Automatic installation

If you have a simple blog (e.g. the default theme) you can easily add pagebar by selecting "Automagic insertion" in the options page. Then you can select where you want the pagebar to appear:
•Front of postings •Behind postings •Footer

3.2.2  Manual installation

If the automatic insertion is not suitable for your blog because your theme has more than one posting loop you can add pagebar manually to your blog by editing some of your themes files. Simply add the following code directly behind The Loop in your index.php and search.php: Of course you may want to configure pagebar to your needs using the option page and by editing the pagebar.css style file.

4  Upgrading from version 1.3

Please refer to the upgrading page if you want to replace your older pagebar installtion with v2.

5  The option page

The option page allows you to tweak the pagebar to your needs.
