Get a Round?

[image: image-upload-148-770241.jpg] This cricket season is the most expensive on record. There has been one or two weekends where I haven't actually bought a jug. This weekend I hit my third ton, (to go with 7 fifties). It does mean I've had more runs than a man who breakfasts, lunches and dines on vindaloo. C'est la vie! However, as I sit here, beer in hand, waving my phone around to try fruitlessly to get reception, I realise there might be worse things to moan about. But, I'm only British after all:)

Please, just leaf me alone...

It's hard to believe that it's already the end of July, and it looks like Summer has finally landed! It was distinctly chilly last night, drinking the night away celebrating another victory and a third ton of the year, but today has dawned bright, sunny, and perfect for getting some work done :(
I do wonder sometimes the effect Facebook is having on our English. When, before the induction of the Facebook status, did anyone write "Sam is loving" or "Sam is needing"? Pedantic, I'm sure, but is this the new split infinitive as a source of annoyance for the picky?[image: Posted by Picasa]

Pictures from the Harry Potter Party Daisy and I held on Saturday. Mostly, there were Daisy's friends there, but it was lovely to see Holly, Cat and Nigel there having come all the way from Canterbury! At one point, we thought we had lost Holly, and having searched the tent, car, garden and house, we found her asleep in the front seat of her car!
