Well, this weekend I finally bit the bullet and did some maintenance work on this website. The changes were mainly on the menu, but I made a few other changes as well.

Nice VLE, shame about the library

Last week it was reported that a school in England has decided to dispense with its library, and its librarian, and have an all-encompassing virtual learning environment (VLE) instead. It probably isn't the first school to do something like this, and no doubt will not be the last. But is the decision a good one from an educational point of view?

web 2.0 apps
Have queried with ed consultant colleagues ref web 2.0 apps beingf seen in schools. Most common use seems to be podcasting, with some use of private flickr groups.
